Love, love, love it!

I have had this slow cooker for a good long time now and am asking my mother for another one for my birthday this month! I love the keep warm feature and even reheat food in it on this setting (yes, it says not to but I know what it can do!).

I have tried other brands including the ''famous'' Crock Pot brand thinking that if I paid more, I'd get more. NOT so!! My mother adopted my old Rival slow cooker that was given to me at 23, I am now nearly 47 and it is still going strong. I have been using slow cookers for what feels like 100 years and have found no better than this. I have also used the crock in the oven with great success though not often as the point of a slow cooker is to use it as a slow cooker and save my electric bill from the evil oven. ;=). I bake in this, stew, braise, make steel cut oats for a ready made breakfast when I get up and a thousand other things. It also makes my baked beans to perfection!

As to the negative reviews, all ''crocks'' are susceptible to cracking though that has never happened to me with any brand at any time. Also, when a slow cooker is new it does indeed cook hotter than you'd think so you need to adjust your time accordingly. No Rival slow cooker, including this one, has ever failed me. I am known and lauded for the delicious dishes that emerge from this. This slow cooker is one excellent investment should you know your way around slow cooking and slow cookers.
Very pleased with purchase!!

I was hesitant in purchasing this item after reading the negative review, but I decided to go ahead and order it. Everyone knows you can get a lemon in any product you purchase. I love this crock pot. I've not had any problems with it. It's one of the prettiest I've ever seen and I've had a lot of compliments on it. It cooks the way it is suppose to. The one feature I like about it is you can keep food warm in it. None of my other crock pots have that feature. I can't say anything negative about it.
Excellent product

First of all we bought this crockpot for its looks ... not always a good thing to do. I've had it for about 3 years and since we don't usually have need to use it a great deal I would say it's probably been used about a dozen or so times since we've owned it. Problems: the low setting cooks way too high but that wasn't much of a problem since I'm usually home when I use it; the warm setting does basically nothing so I pretty much ignored that feature right off the bat. Now for the biggie: it's our fault that we didn't notice it when we purchased the crockpot but there must have been a hairline crack on the outside that developed into a major crack. We can see where it probably had started on the bottom of the crock. I have learned since reading other reviews on this style of crock that this is a major flaw in the manufacturing as others have had the same problem.

Now for the irritating part: try calling this crazy company to see if a replacement crock can be purchased. What a joke! We live in CST and the company is EST so for us to get home in time from our jobs to talk to anyone by 5:00 in the evening never happens ... SOooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo I used their email form on the website. Another joke! I gave all of the information needed and got a total run around about this number and that being needed before my questions could be answered. BUT they did tell me that the crockery was out of stock and "they didn't know when more would arrive" (that got my suspicions up, hmmmmmmmm) and they needed more numbers ... what numbers, I gave them everything written on the pot.

Bottom line: I miss the old Rival company ...
